Project Manager (M/F)

Role Description


As an agro-forestry project manager you will be responsible for ensuring all farming operations, relevant reporting and budgetary requirements meet a high sustainable standard, while leading a team to ensure best practice procedures are always maintained across all aspects of the business;
Lead on the design and implementation phases, providing technical advisory on planning, irrigation, farming, and budgeting that are appropriate to management;
Establish local partnership with local NGOs, farmer cooperatives and other (non-governmental) stakeholders, and work closely with relevant actors in the agriculture value chain; Repairs & Maintenance of machinery and faming implements;
Coordinate activities with other Mota-Engil group companies to maximise efficiencies; Ensure all work practices and processes are consistent and in line with Mota-Engil sustainability and SHEQ guidelines;
Report directly to the COO, will work in close collaboration with the Technical Director who will lead and guide the project regarding its agriculture technical component.

 

Experience and Qualifications:


• Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management or Agronomy (or relevant other);
• 5-10 years of professional experience in intensive farming operations including crops, soils, nutrients, equipment, and machinery;
• Experience in the practices, principles and operations associated with modern, sustainable production agriculture and irrigation;
• Expertise in large scale irrigation management and technologies;
• Driving license (cat. B);
• Fluency in Portuguese. English and/or France is desirable;
• Excellent organisational skills overseeing day to day operation. A hands-on approach on overall farming activities is essential;
• Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
