Transport Supervisor

 

Mamaland, a Mota-Engil Group company, is dedicated to the development and maintenance of sustainable systems through a more inclusive approach, with the aim of generating Prosperity for the Planet and for People. The MoRe Project is a large-scale initiative, with an expected duration of 40 years, focused on forest restoration and sustainable development in Malawi. The project aims to restore 555,000 hectares of degraded land through reforestation, agroforestry, and assisted natural regeneration, while promoting the active involvement of local communities. Through this approach, MoRe seeks to generate long-lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits, contributing to ecological resilience and the well-being of populations.

 

 

Role description:

 

The Transport Supervisor is responsible for the operational management of transport and equipment requests, ensuring the proper allocation of available resources, system registration, and coordination of priorities among the different company areas. This role includes organizing the mobilization of equipment and vehicles to job sites, as well as ensuring assembly and disassembly processes both at the yard and at work locations, guaranteeing efficiency, safety, and compliance with internal procedures.

 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Receive and register transport and equipment requests in the system;

Identify and allocate available resources (vehicles, equipment, and drivers);

Coordinate equipment usage needs and priorities between different departments;

Verify and manage all required documentation related to transport and equipment;

Organize the mobilization of equipment to job sites and assign respective drivers;

Coordinate and supervise assembly and disassembly operations in the field and at the yard;

Identify training needs within the team;

Manage human resources assigned to the area, planning and coordinating their allocation to different activities;

Monitor and control fleet and equipment maintenance plans;

Inspect daily equipment reports and ensure they are correctly completed;

Identify, analyze, and report breakdowns, liaising with the maintenance department;

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and internal procedures;

Promote continuous improvement of transport area operational processes.

 

 

Experience and qualifications:

 

High school diploma (12th grade or equivalent);

Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in similar roles;

Knowledge of fleet and equipment management;

Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and fault diagnosis;

Strong organizational and priority management skills;

Good communication skills and team leadership ability;

Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office tools;

Proactive and dynamic profile;

Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail;

Fluent in English (mandatory);

Valid international driving license (preferred);

Mobility availability.
