Civil Engineer- Structures (M/F)
Requirements
* BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering degree or Masters in Bridge/ Structural Engineering is an added advantage).
* Minimum 15 years’ overall professional experience.
* Minimum 10 years’ proven experience in bridge design and construction supervision/execution.
* Sound knowledge of Eurocodes, SATCC Specifications, and international bridge design standards.
* Previous experience on donor-funded infrastructure projects (World Bank, EIB, AfDB, EU, or similar) will be an added advantage.
Technical Competencies
* Bridge structural analysis and design (reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and steel bridges).
* Foundation design, geotechnical interpretation and hydraulic considerations for bridge structures.
* Construction planning, temporary works, erection methodologies and quality control.
* Contract administration under FIDIC Conditions of Contract, including management of technical queries, variations and claims.
* Bridge inspection, condition assessment, rehabilitation and strengthening of existing structures.
* Ability to generate and review shop drawings, method statements and design calculations.
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing, health & safety requirements, and risk management.
* Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g. MIDAS Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, SAP2000, STAAD Pro or equivalent).
* Excellent technical reporting, communication and coordination skills.
