SENIOR IT OFFICER

 

 

Job Summary

 


The Senior IT Officer will provide IT support and oversight for company operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems across all sites. This role involves maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure, providing advanced technical support, managing IT assets, ensuring system security, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency. 

 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure across offices and sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues; provide escalation support to IT staff and end-users.
  • Supervise IT asset management, maintain accurate records, and coordinate procurement of IT equipment in line with organizational needs.
  • Conduct regular IT system audits, monitor performance, and implement robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard company data and infrastructure.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to staff and junior IT officers.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT policies, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Liaise with service providers and vendors to address service gaps, introduce new technologies, and manage system rollouts and upgrades.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, recommend solutions, and lead implementation of IT projects that improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support field teams on-site by addressing connectivity, hardware, and systems challenges promptly.

 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in IT support, network administration, and infrastructure management, with at least experience in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in network protocols, systems security, IT asset management, and enterprise IT solutions.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience supporting both office and field-based teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology trends, cybersecurity best practices, and digital transformation tools.
