Mechanical Engineer - Mining (m/f) (EN)

This role involves maintaining mechanical equipment and systems used in mining operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, combined with practical experience in heavy mobile machinery used in mining. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation and maintenance of mining machinery, ensuring that safety and efficiency standards are met on the maintenance tasks, and collaboration with multidisciplinary to ensure equipment availability to production. The role demands team management skills, budget tracking and strategy implementations according to the company standards. Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of maintenance strategies and practices.
• Supervise maintenance operations and track key performance indicators.
• Coordinate technical teams on site and ensure activities follow safety and operational procedures.
• Prepare tool lists, consumable requirements, and equipment needed for workshops and maintenance areas.
• Assist in setting up mechanical infrastructures (workshops, tyre area, lubrication area, etc).
• Conduct technical inspections to verify equipment readiness for operation.
• Support the development of SOPs, checklists, technical specifications and documentation.
• Ensure alignment with HSE requirements and company standards.
• Provide guidance to technicians when required.
• Identify improvements opportunities and propose practical solutions.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in mining mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery.
• Familiarity with mining industry safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office (mandatory).
• Proficiency in SAP (preferable).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in remote mining locations.
• Strong commitment to good safety and environmental practices.
• Proficiency in English (mandatory).
