CAD Engineer - m/f (UG)
Job Summary
Responsible for creating detailed design drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits.
- Ongoing drawing-focused collaboration with project managers and design consultants.
- Seamlessly integrating and working with project managers design consultants, and sub-contractors, to produce and alter drawings.
- Printing of CAD drawings in various formats and packages and delivering them to the correct contact promptly.
- Systematically saving sketches and drawings on our CAD server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made.
- Providing support to the project team in the design process, to create sketches and drawings work.
- Exhaustively reviewing and checking sketches and drawings for errors, before being sent to architects, subcontractors, project managers, etc
- Creating and continually updating project drawings lists.
- Printing various formats of drawing sets for project managers and site superintendents.
- Organizing and uploading drawings to web-based storage sites/collaboration project sites to share drawings with project and subcontractors.
- Create, edit, and update standard details for use in projects.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar CAD engineering role within the construction industry
- Proven experience using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for creating 2D and 3D construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, building codes, and architectural standards
- Proficiency in additional design software programs relevant to construction
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate and dimensionally correct drawings.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site work, and technical drawing standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
