Mission

To oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all maintenance, repair, and fabrication of Oil & Gas equipment (e.g., valves, pumps, drilling tools, or heavy machinery) are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards like API and ISO.

Responsibilities

May include but are not limited to:

1. Operational Leadership

• Plan and schedule the daily workload for technicians, mechanics, and welders;

• Monitor project progress to ensure equipment is returned to service or delivered to the field on time;

• Troubleshoot complex mechanical or hydraulic issues alongside the technical team.

2. Safety & Compliance (HSE)

• Enforce a "Safety First" culture, ensuring 100% compliance with PPE, Permit to Work (PTW), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures;

• Conduct regular safety toolbox talks and facility inspections;

• Ensure all hazardous materials and waste are handled according to environmental regulations.

3. Quality Assurance (QA/QC)

• Verify that all repairs meet API (American Petroleum Institute) or specific OEM specifications;

• Review and sign off on inspection reports, pressure test certificates, and maintenance logs;

• Maintain the calibration of tools and precision measuring equipment.

4. Resource & Asset Management

• Manage inventory levels for spare parts, consumables, and raw materials;

• Oversee the maintenance of workshop machinery (e.g., lathes, CNC machines, overhead cranes);

• Optimize workshop layout to improve workflow and minimize downtime.

Professional Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field;

• 5–8 years in a mechanical workshop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within Oil & Gas.
