Field Service Technician

Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Technician reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the following key areas:
Role Overview:
Responsible for remote and on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of solar plant and charging stations equipment’s at Mota-Engil Renewing. Perform inspections of equipment, tools, and facility for compliance with Renewing Policy and Governmental Safety and Environmental regulations. This person must be a self-motivated, self-starter that has the ability to work alone safely. Will require travel across Portugal regularly.
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute and/or Monitor commissioning and certifications phases of new solar plants and EV charging stations. Perform acceptance validations and start-up of new solar plants and EV charging stations.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of solar plants and EV charging stations and associated equipment including secondary substations.
- Preventive Maintenance planning and monitoring of Solar Plants and Charging Stations. Including appropriate reporting and installation documentation treatment and maintenance.
- Ensure the planning and execution of the periodic electrical inspections and all the legal obligations compliance.
- Ensure corrective maintenance of solar plants and EV charging stations. If necessary, local intervention for repair or activation of a qualified provider to repair the asset.
- Ensure the compliance with legal obligations of solar plants and EV charging stations (periodic communications to ERSE/DGEG, insurance policies maintenance, warranty extension, etc.).
- Ensure the compliance with Safety, Security, Health, Environment and Quality standards and legal obligations. Comply with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs and act as a safety role model.
- Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job-appropriate processes and procedures and communicate through appropriate channels or implement improvements using the appropriate control management protocol.
- Demonstrate and promote integrity, strong initiative, and teamwork.
- Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures and platforms.
Requirements and Competencies:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or relevant discipline).
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in electrical field services.
- Experience in projects with significant electrical components.
- Relevant knowledge of Portuguese electrical standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of Excel or similar tools.
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Problem solving driving person.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is desirable.
- Effective member of OE or OET is desirable.
- Mobility availability.
- Driving license.
