Function Mission

 

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the procurement team complies with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures. Plays a critical role in developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, monitoring adherence to regulations, and providing guidance to the team on compliance matters.

The Compliance Officer works closely with the legal and procurement team to promote a culture of compliance and mitigate risks related to non-compliance.
 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implement, and manage compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards.

 

  • Be updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the team and the organization's operations, assess the impact on compliance obligations, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.

 

  • Work with the legal team on contracts relating to the procurement department to ensure compliance to internal processes and procedures.

 

  • Conduct periodic audits and assessments of procurement internal processes, systems, and controls to identify compliance gaps, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.

 

  • Organize Knowledge Sharing Sessions (KSS) and materials to educate the team on compliance requirements, ethical standards, and best practices to foster a culture of compliance awareness.

 

  • Prepare compliance reports, maintain records of compliance activities, and report on compliance metrics to the head of department.

 

  • Investigate compliance incidents, violations, or concerns and collaborate with the legal department to address issues and implement remediation plans to prevent recurrences.

 

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks, evaluate their impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize the organization's exposure to non-compliance.

 

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in compliance, risk management preferably in the construction industry.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and best practices in compliance management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Attention to detail, ethical conduct, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiar with compliance software, data analytics tools, and document management systems.
